Ringback Tones

What is a Ringback Tone?
A Ringback Tone lets you replace the standard ringing sound that a caller normally hears while they wait for you to answer with a song or other audio clip available from Tone Room Deluxe. Choose a song for your callers to hear before you pick up a call.
What's the difference between a ringback tone and a ringtone?
A Ringtone (also know as a realtone) is the tone you hear when you phone is ringing. A ringback tone is what the caller hears while waiting for the call to be picked up. For example, You get a call from Betty. Betty hears the ringback tone when she's waiting for you to answer; you hear the ringtone as the phone is ringing.
Other differences include:
  • Ringtones are downloaded to your phone while ringback tones are stored on the U.S. Cellular network for you to manage.
  • Ringtones will never expire but cannot be transferred from your handset. Ringback tones expire after 6 months. Prior to expiration, U.S. Cellular will send you a free text message to alert you to renew the ringback tone.
How do I purchase a Ringback Tone?
Ringback Tones are available for purchase by Tone Room Deluxe monthly subscribers. With our current subscription offering of 2 credits for $4.99 per month, you will be able to purchase ringtones and ringback tones for 1 credit each. Ringback tones may be purchased from your device or from the web. Depending on your handset type, instructions on how to get Tone Room Deluxe on your phone will differ. How much does a Ringback Tone cost?
As a monthly subscriber to Tone Room Deluxe, you will receive 2 credits for $4.99/mo. All ringtones and ringback tones cost 1 credit each. If at any time you have used all available credits, you may continue to purchase ringtones and ringback tones at $2.49 each.
Can I purchase Ringbacks or Ringtones without a dataplan?
Yes. You can purchase and manage Ringbacks directly on this website without a data plan. To start your service, Sign Up Here. However, you will incur data charges (daily or monthly depending upon your data plan) when you use your handset to manage Ringbacks and purchase Ringtones. Once I've purchased a Ringback Tone, what can I do with it?
There are a number of features available to you for managing your ringback tones, including:
  • Set it as default ringback tone (for all callers to hear; except those which you've blacklisted)
  • Assign it for an individual Contact to hear when calling
  • Assign it for a Group of Contacts to hear when calling
  • Shuffle your ringback tones
For how long do I get to keep my Ringback Tone?
Ringback Tones will expire 6 months after purchase. You can view the expiration date for all of your ringback tones on the My Ringback Tones page.
What is a Contact?
In order to assign a ringback tone to a particular caller, you must add them to your Tone Room Deluxe list of contacts. When doing so, you will be required to enter a Name and Phone number. On the Add Contact screen, you will also see sections to assign a ringback tone, blacklist this caller, and add this caller to a group.
Can I create Contacts with international phone numbers?
Yes. When entering the phone number, ensure that it includes the country code, followed by the phone number; no spaces and no special characters (eg. 01112345678).
How do I set a Ringback Tone to play for a friend?
You must first create a Contact, which can be done through the My Ringback Tones page. When doing so, you'll see a section that allows you to assign a ringback tone to that particular Contact. Simply select one of your purchased ringback tones from the dropdown, and upon clicking Save, your assignment will be made.
What is a Group?
If you have more than one Contact for which you'd like to be given the same ringback tone settings (you'd like them all to hear the same ringback tone when calling), then you can create a Groups. For example, you can have your work colleagues listen to one song, and your friends listen to something else.
How do I set a Ringback Tone to play for a specific Group of callers?
You must first create a Group, which can be done through the My Ringback Tones page. When doing so, you'll see a section that allows you to assign a ringback tone to that particular Group. Simply select one of your purchased ringback tones from the dropdown, and upon clicking Save, your assignment will be made. Then, you'll be able go into each contact and add them to your new Group.
Can I give a Contact and individual Ringback Tone assignment, and a Group assignment?
No. Each Contact can either be placed into a Group, or be given an individual Ringback Tone assignment.
Can I set a Ringback as my default?
Yes. On the My Ringback Tones page, you'll see a section for Default Ringback. Simply select one of your purchased ringback tones from the drop down, and upon clicking Save, your assignment will be made.
Can I shuffle my Ringback Tones?
Yes. On the My Ringback Tones page, you'll see a section for Default Ringback. Simply select Shuffle from the drop down, and upon clicking Save, your assignment will be made. You can also make the Shuffle assignment for a particular Contact or Group be selecting to do so on the appropriate Edit Contact/Edit Group screen. Note: Shuffle functionality uses ALL ringbacks in your profile.
How often can I change my Ringback Tone?
As often as you'd like. Ringback assignments should take effect almost immediately.
Can I preview Ringback Tones before buying them?
Yes. You can preview tones for free on the Tone Room Deluxe website. You will also be able to preview tones on your handset before making a purchase (Smartphones excluded).
Can I manage my Ringback Tones from the Web?
Yes. Once registered/logged-in, simply go to the My Ringback Tones section of the site.
Will my Ringback Tones work while I'm roaming or abroad?
Yes. U.S. Cellular will always play your selected Ringback Tone for any caller, regardless of where you are physically located.
What is Blacklist?
Blacklist is a Ringback Management feature that allows you to block one or more specific phone numbers from being included in any of your Default Ringback Tone settings. Example - I create Betty as a contact, and add her to my Blacklist. Then I purchase a Ringback Tone and set it as default. All callers will hear my default ringback tone (when calling me) except for Betty, who will just hear the standard ring.
How do I know when a Ringback Tone expires?
We will send you a free SMS notification when one of your ringback tones is within 5 days of expiration. You can also see expiration dates for all of your ringback tones on the My Ringback Tones page.
Can I renew my Ringback Tones?
Yes. If you renew a ringback tone while it's still active, then your ringback tone assignments will remain in tact, and we'll simply add 6 months onto the original expiration date. When viewing the My Ringback Tones section, you'll see a Renew option that displays for all ringback tones that have already expired or within 5 days of reaching expiration.
Can I delete a Ringback Tone from my account?
Yes. You can do this from the My Ringbacks page (on your phone or on the Tone Room Deluxe website). Once you delete a Ringback Tone from your account, you will lose access to it, and will have to re-purchase to get it back.

Ringtones

What is a Ringtone?
Ringtones (also known as Realtones) are the sounds your phone makes to alert you to an incoming call. Ringtones are downloaded to your phone and available for you to manage and assign. Ringtones never expire but you cannot transfer them from your handset.
How do I purchase a Ringtone?

How long do I get to keep my Ringtone for?
Ringtones do not expire. Since they are downloaded onto the handset, you'll get to use ringtones for as long as you keep your phone. However, ringtones cannot be transferred from your phone to any other device.
How can I purchase and manage my Ringtones via Tone Room Deluxe on my handset?
Tone Room Deluxe capable handsets will provide you the ability to browse, search, purchase and manage your favorite content. Tone Room Deluxe applications provide the same features you find on the Tone Room Deluxe website, customized to fit the screen on your phone.

What is Tone Room Deluxe?
Tone Room Deluxe is a service that enables you to access the latest and hottest content from your favorite artists for ringtones and ringback tones from your phone or the Web. This easy to use service features a music catalog with tens of thousands of titles for you to discover.
How much does a Ringtone or Ringback Tone cost?
For non-subscribers, you may only purchase ringtones at $2.99 each. For subscribers, 1 credit is required to download a ringtone or obtain a ringback tone. If you exhaust your credits, additional ringtone or ringback tone content may be purchased at a discounted price of $2.49.
What are credits and what can I get with them?
For each month you are subscribed to Tone Room Deluxe, you will receive 2 credits which allow you to obtain either ringtone or ringback tone content. Each credit is applied towards a single product, allowing you to receive any combination of 2 ringtones or ringback tones in exchange. If you run out of credits, you will have the option to obtain more content by purchasing for a discount at $2.49 per content item.
How do I get the Tone Room Deluxe Service?
From the web or your Tone Room Deluxe capable handset, select the option to purchase a subscription My Account Info. Upon acceptance of the terms and conditions, you will be charged the monthly service fee of $4.99 and issued two credits. You may redeem these credits for ringback tones or ringtones. Once you have a ringback Tone, use the manage account screens to assign them to your favorite contacts or to all callers.
How do I pay for my service?
Each month on your renewal date, you will be charged $4.99. This charge will appear on your U.S. Cellular phone bill within the Other Charges and Credits section. Additionally, any content items you purchase or redeem credits for will appear on your bill.
When is my service billed and credits renewed?
Check the My Account Info page to see your renewal date. On this date, your service will be billed for the calendar month and you will receive 2 credits.
How do I know if a Ringback Tone is available for the song I like?
When you click Get It for any song, you will see purchase options allowing you to obtain the ringtone and/or ringback tone, whichever is available.
How many credits do I have left?
Check the My Account Info page to view your credits remaining.
I've run out of credits, but I still want a Ringback Tone or Ringtone. What do I do?
Don't worry, you can continue purchasing Ringtones and Ringback Tones for $2.49 each (Which will be applied to your U.S. Cellular phone bill). You will be advised of this charge before completing your purchase.
When are credits redeemed?
For Ringback Tones, your credit is decremented from your account when you confirm your wish to purchase the content. For Ringtones, the credit is decremented from your account when you attempt to download the content item to your handset. If you have a feature phone (non-smartphone), then your credit will be redeemed when the content item is saved on your handset. For smartphone users, the credit is decremented when you click the link to download the Ringtone.
I don't want a subscription. Can I still have Ringback Tones?
No. You must have an active subscription to use the Ringback Tone service.
How can I cancel my service?
On the My Account Info screen, you will find an option to cancel service. If you choose to cancel the service, you will be eligible to continue using Ringback Tones and downloading content until your renewal date. Upon your renewal date, you will no longer have Ringback Tone service nor will you be charged $4.99 per month. You will have the ability to sign up again at any time and you may elect to purchase Ringtones for $2.99 each.
Can I keep my Ringback Tones if I cancel?
When you cancel, you still retain the Ringback tones you purchased and the lease period is still valid. Should you subscribe again, you may continue using the Ringback Tones until their expiration date. Ringback Tones will cease to work for all callers upon your renewal date after the day you cancel.
I want to turn off Tone Room Deluxe immediately. How do I do this?
If you choose to cancel and you wish to halt the service immediately, dial 611 from your U.S. Cellular phone, or 1-888-944-9400 to contact Customer Service. Your Ringback Tones will stop playing immediately, though the lease term is still valid.
I want to block purchases of any Tone Room Deluxe content. How do I do this?
Dial 611 from your U.S. Cellular phone, or 1-888-944-9400 to contact Customer Service. They will apply a block to Tone Room Deluxe which will prevent all charges from being applied. When this happens, no content can be acquired and Ringback Tone service will not function.
Tone Room Deluxe says all charges are blocked and I cannot buy any content. What do I do to turn off this block?
Dial 611 from your U.S. Cellular phone, or 1-888-944-9400 to contact Customer Service. They will remove the purchasing block, enabling you to obtain content and subscribe to receive Ringback Tone service.
I have Tone Room credits leftover. Can I use them on Tone Room Deluxe?
No. You must use your Tone Room credits on the Tone Room application on your phone.
I'm trying to register on the website, and I'm not receiving the SMS with my password. What do I do?
Your account might not allow you to receive SMS messages. Please dial 611 from your U.S. Cellular phone, or 1-888-944-9400 to contact Customer Service.
I'm trying to purchase a Ringtone from the website, and I'm not receiving the SMS with my Ringtone. What do I do?

I am attempting to login on Tone Room Deluxe and I cannot remember my password. What do I do?
On the website, click Forgot Password? and enter your phone number. A text message with your password will be sent to the handset. Enter this password into the website to complete your login. This text message is free.
When I login on Tone Room Deluxe website, it says I am unable to use the service because I'm suspended or cancelled. What do I do?
Your account is currently on suspension or cancelled by U.S. Cellular. Please dial 611 from your U.S. Cellular phone, or 1-888-944-9400 to contact Customer Service.
When I try to use Tone Room Deluxe, it says my U.S. Cellular account is not eligible for service. What do I do?
Your account type is not eligible for Tone Room Deluxe. Examples include pre-paid accounts or business lines. Please dial 611 from your U.S. Cellular phone, or 1-888-944-9400 to contact Customer Service.

Ringback Radio

Do ringback Radio Stations ever expire?
No. Ringback Stations will auto-renew each month, until you decide to get rid of it (this can be done by deleted the station from your account).
Do Ringback Radio Stations work with my phone?
Yes! You can purchase and assign Ringback Radio Stations from the Tone Room Deluxe website, or from your U.S. Cellular phone.
When will my next monthly charge for my Ringback Radio Station be?
The monthly charge date is based on the specific date when you originally purchased the Ringback Station. You can find out when to expect your next charge by going to My Account Info, or through My Ringbacks.
How do I cancel/remove/delete my Ringback Radio Station?
You can easily delete a Ringback Station by going to My Account Info or My RIngbacks. Note: Upon deleting a station from your account, you will no longer be able to make assignments with it. Also, the associated monthly charges will be stopped once the station is deleted.
Can I buy/have more than one Ringback Radio Station?
Absolutely. There is no limit on the number of Ringback Radio Stations you can have at any given time.
How many tones are in each Ringback Radio Station?
Up to four tones per station.
How often is each Ringback Radio Station updated with new music?
We update our Ringback Radio Stations with fresh music every month!
How can I find out what tones are in each Ringback Radio Station?

How do I manage my Ringback Tones and Ringback Radio Stations (make and update assignments, etc?
Typically, a Ringback Tone costs one credit. This is done in the same way as regular Ringback Tones are managed. Namely, you are able to set a Ringback Station as default, and assign it to a specific Contacts and Groups. Ringback Stations will be included when you set an assignment to Shuffle. When an assignment is made using a Ringback Station, a song from the station will be pulled at random and played for all relevant callers.
